WARNING!--This may come as a shock but I'm going to use words and phrases here that I've banned people for.

As my IPod tells me, Chris Rock says there is no sex in the champagne room Makoto. Personally, I would rather there was no champagne in the sex room but whatever. Voice me. I promise to disrupt join IRC whenever I can.

As many of you have already figured out, the FUCKING filters have been turned off and some longtime bans have been lifted. I see no reason whatsoever to keep a ban on someone for past transgressions and deny them the chance to say goodbye, thank you, screw you, fuck you, suck me or whatever.

Posting the RW is closing thread is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. You see, I love to teach. Whether you know it or not, whether you rebel against it or not, whether you like it or not, you have been taught by your time here. And the entire community has been your teacher. Deal with it.

That's all everyday ever is. A learning experience. I've watched some of you grow from an angry "I hate the world" personality into someone who I would love to meet in person and shake hands with. There are so many of you here that I am extremely proud of and would love to say to you in person, "Thank you and I respect you."

Thank you for helping me grow.
Thank you for teaching me patience.
Thank you for teaching me how to respect others.
Thank you for teaching me restraint.
Thank you for teaching me patience.
Thank you for teaching me how not to abuse power.
Thank you for teaching me how to coach.
Thank you for teaching me how to be a kid again.
Thank you for enriching my life.
Thank you for being a part of my life.

When I first came to RuneNews, I had 2 children. Now I have 4. You have grown and so have I and my family. Thank you.

Now then. The easy way out for me would be to say to you, "Thanks and you know who you are." I fucking hate the goddamn easy way out. So, I will try to get my senile old brain in gear and name some names. I will apologize now and afterwards for forgetting some of you. However, I do know that I will remember someone between now and the 8th and I reserve the right to edit this post. And since I have the ability to do so, I won't allow the "edited by" line so you'll never really know what shit I added will you? Damn, I love this job!

Now, in no particular order but rather as senililty recalls them...

SirHumpsAlot -- Great name and the one who steered me to RuneNews so many years ago. Good advice, good humor, good man. Thank you.
MikeNewbie -- The ultimate mentor to anyone new to a forum. Thank you.
Catafish -- The power behind the throne. Awsome coder, awesome supporter. Thank you.
Tim -- The power behind the power to the throne. There is not a one of us that can thank you enough for what you have done for these past years. Thank you.
Seiferoth -- Goddamn it man, I miss you. Ultimate respect to you always. You are stronger than you think and you have earned every bit of admiration anyone can give you. I wish you the best in your life. Thank you.
Splatman -- If I was ever jealous of anyone, it would be you, you ass-grabbing, titty fondling, sweet ride building, club hopper you. Your pics are envy incarnate. Thank you.
Jeku1987 -- Your intellect and debating skills have, and will, serve you well in life. You put some people in their place in RN in such a way as they actually thanked you afterward. Awesome. Thank you.
Makoto -- What can I say? I've watched you grow, learn, and then pass on those learnings. You have gone from just another family member to the one everyone looks up to. I know without a doubt that you will succeed in whatever you set out to do. You are the man. Thank you.
Firenimmo -- What the fuck is up with the pier girls? Did you just abandon them? Nimmo, you have devoted alot of time and energy to both RN and RW and your dedication is inspiring to say the least. Many times you have been the voice of reason and I have no doubt whatsoever that your life will be as successful as you have been here and in the game. Thank you.
Supaphat -- Damn but you are a graphics god. Your artistic talent will definitely come into play in whatever you decide you want to do. Thank you.
Deathbyape -- The dedication you have shown to this site along with the patience and fairness you have shown in dealing with idiots, morons, and fucknuts will most assuredly enable you to have an excellent life. Your support and influence has been very much appreciated. Thank you.
Twilight Ray -- You, my friend, are the one regret I have in that I did not pay enough attention. My fault, not yours. It is my loss that I never got to know you better. You have a quirky sense of humor that will enable you to get through anything life throws at you. You have given me enough laughs to last me years. Thank you.
Loggy/Data/Woody -- Kept me paying attention to just remember what you were called that week. Fucker. I also regret not getting to know you better but since RW is going away, I will have no choice but to harass your ass in IRC. I have watched you become someone that I wanted to ban to someone that I respected, enjoyed, laughed with, and encouraged in your madcap posts and adventures. You have alot going for you. Don't let it slip away. The way you picked up the pieces of the Content Staff and made it something worthwhile is indicative of what you can do when you put your mind to it. You have taught me that persistance can overcome adversity. Thank you.
Tangerz -- When you laugh, the whole world laughs with you. You reminded me constantly to laugh. Thank you.
Dilbert26 -- Longtime supporter. Longtime fairness. You went up and up and up. I've watched you learn and grow and I've learned from you. Thank you.
Geo1988 -- Anyone who would admit to being from a place called Goochland has my admiration. Seriously though, I wish you would have hung around longer. You have a good head on your shoulders and I like the way you moderate between opposing parties. You have taught me how to be a better mediator. Thank you.
BluEZ -- A longtime supporter and someone I respect. You helped shaped RW. Thank you.
Teh Evil -- You're not as jaded as you want people to think. Like it or not, you taught me how not to judge people by first impressions. Thank you.
Urahoe -- Torn between 2 loyalties. The Others need and depend on you. You showed me how to support 2 sides of the same coin. Thank you.

There are more that I want to say thank you to for various reasons but it's late, I've had 3 Jack on the rocks, and I need my beauty sleep so the rest will have to wait. As I said, I get to edit this post with those I've left out.

At least we saw become reality the release of blood temple, and some stuff that was interesting to talk about. I maybe never will be on the level for discuss about graphics or videos but I enjoyied learning. Some stuff we thought became true, some others will keep on hold, but the rl world is small and more smaller is ingame world, so everyone will have some homework to do. Runeweb was like a guild, some came for work, some for fun, some for find a family. It doesn't mean that runeweb have more work to do: it means that Runeweb was a place to do works.

Hahaha, I'd completely forgotten about this. I suppose the idea did get abandoned around the time RS2 came out. For anyone who missed it, a few of us (usually myself, Splatman and others) would go to Karamja on a F2P world in a lot of members gear and I'd try to 'buy a girlfriend' for a lot of money and see what responses would occur. Aside from the people telling me/us to get a life (as expected), people tried to sell themselves, sell their girlfriends (sometimes with them present) and even sell other people's girlfriends if we offered enough money. But the best moment was with some level-30 Splatman had decided was really a girl and let her wear his party hats. It was hilarious that he'd just traded someone he barely knew these items worth at least 5-10 million (a LOT of money at the time, this is well before RS2) for nothing. Everyone else at the pier went crazy, as you'd expect. But amazingly she did trade them back (possibly not knowing how valuable they were), so there was some good in some RS players after all.

Some thankyou's:
Catatifish - had a lot of laughs developing things (or trying, projects were often ridiculous) with you and seeing what you'd come up with over the years
Seiferoth - worked extremely hard for the site in the early days and got a lot of our initial traffic with some outstanding quest guides. New sites need all the fame they can get and you provided as much as anyone else.
Splatman - a really good friend ingame and out, similar sense of humour lead to some stupid adventures ingame (pier girls, thieving bug etc.) which were always funny
Kaldais712 - no idea if you read these boards anymore but you were one of my best friends on here, the humour was forever brilliant
FireballX301 - you worked tremendously hard on the site and I can't thank you enough for it, especially since you took a lot of shit for one reason or another. You are bizarre, though.
Supa - very talented graphic artist, hopefully you don't need people like me to pester you to work in the future, though I'm sure the work will remain as high quality as its always been.
Data - you did a lot of work when the state of the site was quite desperate, which takes a lot more effort than when you have plenty of support and help, which is impressive. If it wasn't for you, this end would have come a lot sooner.
Anyone on the staff at one time or other - thanks for helping, it was good of you to contribute and I hope you got something from it in the end, I know I did.
Counter-strike players (off the top of my head - loserkid, tangerz, quake fan, data, mediator, ollie, krylon) - thanks for a lot of fun and ridiculous moments.
Anyone who visited the site, used a signature, read a quest guide or posted on the forums - thanks for playing.

I cannot believe this is happening. I could see it coming, wished it wouldn't, but doesnt all good things come to an end?

I have been a member of RW for a couple of years. Like Pineapple, I never posted much other than to say congrats or post some of my skill accomplishments.

I was introduced to this site by Pineapple. Seeing as we go to the same school, I quickly learnt the RHQ was nowhere near the same league as RW. I will miss all you guys but I want to name a few even if you dont remember me too well.
