I've been wondering if anyone has taken the time to employ the help of a familiar in Bounty Hunter/Clan Wars/Pest Control/Castle Wars/Duel Arena and so on, and, if so, if they make much of a difference? I'm guessing some of them can, but then others are just plain boring.

In games like Pest Control they can only be a positive thing, and probably in Castle Wars as well. I dunno about Bounty Hunter or Clan Wars; I can't explain it exactly but it seems to me as though they might just cause trouble.

I've only used a summon in PvE combat, and let me tell you that the lower level familiars aren't much of a help.

Okay I'll thank the Spirit Kalphite for taking the heat off of one or two Guardians once in a while, but it sure did break quickly. Worse, it attacked so severely slow, it felt like a burn of a blue charm just to bring it into existence.

Overall, you won't see many PvP summoners unless they can summon Mithril Minotaurs or higher. No real point to them below that point, if you asked me.

(Of course, I'll be proven wrong in February...)

Yea, if you think about it, o' course the lower level ones aren't going to help. I fought some guards with the Dreadfowl for a while; if the guard turns its attention to the chicken, it can easily be killed, which makes sense, given its combat level (19 or something).
