Sounds like a fun event, and a good way for our members to make some money if we get a chain or 2 wink.gif

Make sure that if you're going to come, you bring your best gear. The more people we have there, the less likely anyone of us is to die, so c'mon out like you trust us. awesomeness.gif

I do believe your thread title is off by a month. Says July.

Anyways, I'm considering it. Depends on my progress with Grim Tales and my rune stock at the time.

Well that's the first form covered, now for the second...

Speaking of which, I know there's a guide that the first post links to, but that guide assumes that everyone going will be meleeing and has full Verac's. What about those of us that don't have Verac's, or are acting as a mage/ranger for a group (such as the one going to this event)? What would be the recommended levels and protection prayers then? (BTW, I aim to come in ghostly if I do show. It's the best that I can afford to lose. >.< )

Yeah there are probably a big amount of people without Veracs going. If I could make it I wouldn't have any Veracs to wear.

It's alright if you don't have Verec to wear or don't want to risk losing it. If you are going to melee, I'd just say wear rune or the next best armour you can afford to lose. Bring the best weapon you can use along with a dds OR d mace.

For rangers, this is just a guess, but bring normal range gear? Black D-hide, rune arrows, a range pot as well. Crystal bow would probably be decent to bring.

For mages, another guess, just bring the best mage gear you are ready to lose, with the highest spell. Maybe someone else knows more about ranging/maging the queen.

But for prayers, personally, I use protect from melee for the first form and then protect from mage the second form. Works pretty good.

Here are some examples of what you need for a single trip (sorta):

General Stuff
2 (just to be safe) Full waterskins (not needed if you can run directly to the tunnel)
Ring of wealth/Ring of life (be careful of teleporting before KQ dies)/Ring of recoil/Nothing
2/3 Prayer potions
Teleport
Food (sharks or higher)
Antipoison (dunno if KQ's range attack poisons, I think melee does anyway)

Melee
Full Rune (you may replace a Rune full helm with Helm of neitiznot/Warrior helm/Whatever)
Obsidian cape/God cape/Plain cape
Metal gloves/Gauntlets/Dragonhide vambraces/Whatever
DDS/Dragon halberd (DDS recommended)
Abyssal whip/Dragon longsword (standard attacking weapon, optional I guess)
Super sets

Try having, dunno, 80 in all melee stats. Anything lower and you might just be a lifeless doll, but you're welcome to try to hit something. When you fight KQ, turn Protect from Magic on at all times. Use all your DDS specials (or Dragon halberd, lul) then switch to a better weapon. KQ's melee attack can hit hard, so watch out.

Magic
Full Mystic (or good substitutes)
God cape
Metal gloves/Mystic gloves/Whatever
Staff
Magic potion (if possible)
DDS/Dragon halberd (lol at random specials, optional)
Runes

Spells can be expensive. Try to have at least 75 Magic. Bring Fire Waves/Magic Darts or whatever you can afford. I wouldn't recommend God spells unless you have cash to burn. Iban Blast might work really well on KQ's second form, but I dunno about that. If you're using ancients, you might want to try smoke, shadow and blood spells. Try to get blitz spells if possible. Ice spells are useless in my opinion, unless you're going for the damage. Burst and barrage spells are probably useless unless you have cash to spare or if you want to fight off numerous Kaphite workers or if you want to look cool.

If you're going as a mage, I'd recommend bringing melee stuff if you're good at combat, since your spells would probably miss a lot on the first form.

It might be interesting to have someone on Lunar spells. Curing and healing would extend trips. You could share prayer or stat boost potions. Vengeance would be fun. Since there are no battle spells with Lunar spellbook, you'll need to go as a warrior or a ranger. It'll be expensive, but could be fun to try out lul. If you really want to be a side-Lunar mage, just bring one type of spell. Too much and you'll lose inventory space.

So, when you go in as a mage, keep Protect from Missiles on at all times. I don't know whether KQ fire magic attacks more often than range, so you might want to put Protect from Magic on if that's the case. (sum1 plz confirm!) Keep at a distance, unleash your specials if you brought melee weapons for some strange reason, and keep firing spells.

Range
Full Black Dragonhide (or replace with good substitutes)
Obsidian cape/God cape/Plain cape
Metal gloves/Black Vambraces
Magic shortbow/Crystal bow/Dark bow (lul)
Magic longbow (special - 100% hit rate?, optional)
Range potion (recommended)

Range is probably the best choice for most of you. Try to be at least 70 Ranged. Crystal bow is love. Get adamant or higher arrows. Dragon arrow for lols and rofls. I dunno about the Magic longbow though, but I thought the special might help lower rangers. It's probably better to replace it with a food or something.

Like mages, you might have a problem with the first form. You can go in as a melee/range hybrid if you have good combat stats, but it's probably fine with just pure range.

Once you get in there, turn Protect from Magic on, and fire away. You might want to save specials for the second form. But if KQ killing is slow, you can use some on the first form.

Edit: sum1 needs to bring ropes!!!111

You said to bring 1 or 2 water skins, but those are not needed in my opinion. If you run directly to the tunnel, you will not need any.

For mid levels bring keris dagger (contact! quest) and...

- any dragonhide top/bottom (green-black) or
- karill top/bottom (have better range/magic bonus than dhide)

Keep hitting with keris dagger and hope you get a special hit =)

Note: If you die you will keep those items, so bank lots of ropes.
Pray vs magic is recommended. Keep charged glories on bank.

You can poison keris dagger, if you lose it buy it from Osman.

You should have protect from magic prayer or you will die for sure.
Protection prayer to me is protect from magic all the way.
You can try protect from melee in first form as Dilbert said.

First form can be damaged only with melee.
If you dont have veracs dont worry, bring the best melee equipment you can. Keep in mind, you can die here (and that isnt rare) so dont bring your best equipment if you cant afford a new one.

Second form can be damaged only with range or magic attacks (except if you have full veracs).
You can bring any kind of range/magic equpment you want. Again, you can die. Dont bring anything you cant replace.
This form have a really powerfull range attack, be careful.

I know that can be really annoying but i will repeat:
To first form bring melee equipment.
To second form bring range or magic equipment.

Dont come with anything you cant replace/afford.

I will do my best to go.
