We wanted to stop the constant topic making, "How do I make Money", well heres your answer.

Ways of Making Money in RuneScape
  • Running Pure Rune Essence
  • Mining (85+ Mining is an advantage)
  • Fishing (p2p and f2p)
  • Smithing (85+ is an advantage)
  • RuneCrafting (44+ is an advantage)
1) First of all, for you Free to play people, the best way to make money in your situation is fishing.

Once you reach 40 fishing on Free to Play, you can fish lobsters which is the second best source of HP restoration in Free to Play, although it is recommended that you have 60 fishing or above, because lower than that it is a very slow process.
The Market right now buys Raw Lobsters at 200-250gp Each, which if you fish 500 of, is roughly 100k.

Or if you want the Cooking Experience you can cook them and sell them at a flat rate of 200gp, which if you cook 500 of, could get you in theory 100k.

2) Running Pure Essence, is a very good way to make money if you are a member, on world 66 you can run laws for people, every 27 laws you run, is 27k, which after a while will add up.

Other worlds are good for other runes, like World 16 you can run pure essence to the air alter.

3) Mining is a very sensitive subject, because it is biased beyond belief, people say that the only way to make good money out of it is getting 85+ mining, and mining rune ore, but there are other ways, you can mine iron and sell wholesale to people, but make sure you have at least 500-1000 iron ores before you do so, you can also mine coal and sell it for 200 each to people so they can smith.

4) Smithing is a great source of money, because you can smith Rune after getting 85, but I wouldn't set your hopes that high yet, if you get 55+ you can smith Mithril, and sell it to free to play people in varrock for good money if they are willing to pay it.

Sets of armor go for
  • Full Bronze - 150 to 350gp
  • Full Iron - 700 to 1000gp
  • Full Steel - 2,300 to 3,800gp
  • Full Mithril - 10,000 to 14,000gp
  • Full Adamant - 30,000 to 40,000gp
  • Full Runite - 180,000 to 200,000gp
As you can see prices can go very high per set, so having a good smithing level is a definite advantage.

5) RuneCrafting may be the best way to make money, because in Runescape there is a constant demand for runes, having 44+ Runecrafting is an advantage because you can craft nature runes, but if you would like any more information on the subject please view the RuneWeb Official RuneCrafting Guide.

Axis Of Evil's advice

Fletching / RuneCrafting / Magic Combo

Requirements:
70+ Fletching (85 is where the real money starts)
44+ RuneCraft
55+ Magic

Method:

To start, buy 1k pure ess at 100 each (lower if you can), yew logs at 275 each (lower if you can), and bowstrings for 200 each (lower if you can), all around the general area of 550-600k. If you dont have that kind of cash, don't buy the pure ess and just make the bows and sell them. When you buy your stuff, you make the logs into bows, string the bows, and then make natures using the abyss or fairy rings and then high alch. You could replace bowstrings with flax and make that into bowstrings, at at level 85 fletching you could replace yew logs for magic logs. Repeat this method as necessary to earn lots of money.

Spikey188's method explained with better english by Nferno

Requirements:

Have about 50-60k to start out with
55+ crafting
67+ mage

Method:
1) Buy both the loop and teeth halves of the Crystal Key (I see people buying them for approx. 25k, but im not entirely sure of the price), make the Crystal Key.
2) Open the Crystal Key Chest (Located in Taverly, In the house opposite that of the Witch's house)
3) Cut the Dragonstone gem that you receive from the chest and make a ring of wealth
4) Enchant and sell the ring (I believe they sell for about 55-65k)

On a side note, smithing cannonballs is a good way to make money and only requires 35 smithing. If you choose this method, each cannonball sells for about 170-200 gp each and you receive 4 balls per steel bar.

How To Not Get Scammed Buying Unids

Well we all know merchanting unids is a very profitable way to make money but theirs also people who use unids to their advantage and attempt to scam using unids this guide will teach you how to avoid falling victim to this scam and loosing money for an example lets use Rannar Weeds and Irit leaves for this Anti-Scam guide

1.Buy 2 Unid Rannar Weeds and 2 Unid Irit Leafs and bank them then withdraw 1 Unid Rannar Weed and 1 Unid Irit Leaf and bank them in the order you got them in for example if your first unid herb was a Rannar after you identified it then you know the first unid herb in you bank is a unid Rannar weed.

2.Now that your unid Rannar & Unid Irit Leaf are still banked withdraw them Noted and since your buying Unid Rannar Weeds & Irit Leafs Withdraw about 200k cash

3.Next you have to fill your inventory with useless junk that you dont need and fill your inventory with it I dont suggest you fill your inventory with other unid herbs as this can get rather confusing.

How Your Inventory Should Look Like

IPB Image

*note im using Pure essence because I like the suggestion that Runehq uses but i took this picture myself.

4.Now that you are ready say "Buying Unid Rannars and Irits" I suggest using crowded worlds such as 2,9,6,18,12, or 24 sometimes 24 is good for unid herbs at seers village bank.

5.If you get a trade and the person offers unid Rannars and Irits Noted try and buy them (Check the price guide below to see the right prices)accept the trade and if it declines at the second trade window then you know he is a scammer since your inventory is fill of things except the right unid herbs you want it will decline because you dont have any room.

6.If you get to the 2nd trade window and the trade happens flawlesy then that is a truthful player that is raly selling the Unid Rannar Weeds & Irit Leafs.

Price Guide

This guide shows the prices on all unid herbs.

Guam leafs- 200-500 ea

Marrentill- 200-500 ea

Tarromin- 200-500 ea

Harralander- 1k ea

Rannar Weed- 6.5k-7k ea

ToadFlax- 2 k ea

Irit leaf- 2k ea

Avantoe-2k ea

Kwuarm- 4k-4.3k ea

Snapdragon- 6.5-7k ea

Cadantine- 2.2k ea

Lantadyme- 2.2-2.5 ea

Dwarf weed- 2.5 ea

Torstol-Still finding price

Tips For Low Level Herblores

If you want to merchant herbs but dont have the right level then you have a few options.

1.Trust trade with a player and let them Identify your herbs *note if your doing this make sure you look up the player to see if he's the right herblore level.

2.Theirs a town called Nardah in the desert south west of shanti pass which has a women named zahur who has an identifying service but it costs 200 gp so you dont have to have a herblore level of 40 to identify a Irit leaf for example.(you can use the magic carpet service to get to Nardah fast saving food and Water skins i sugggest always wearing desert clothes while in the desert which include desert skirt, desert robe, and desert boots.

IPB Image

3. trade players already identified herbs for yours that arent identified

Hope This guide helped in making you avoid scams and making you a true merchant

Maybe add in a few good items to merchant as I know there are people here who merchant but are not sure what to merchant. I do not know many good things to merchant but u'm sure ther merchants of rw would.

A few may be:

Coal
Steel Bars
Pure Essence
Rares of course

Edit:

A few other things to merchant could be:

Cooked/Raw Shark or lobs?
Cannon Balls?
Runes?
Barrows?
Rune Armour?
P Pots or Ranarr?
Super Sets?

I'm just thinking of items that generally sell at different prices.

This is Spikey's idea, but im just going to correct the grammar for him. However, even though English is my first language, I despise English class in school due to grammar. ;x

One money making method is as follows:

Requirements:

Have about 50-60k to start out with
55+ crafting
67+ mage

Method:

1) Buy both the loop and teeth halves of the Crystal Key (I see people buying them for approx. 25k, but im not entirely sure of the price), make the Crystal Key.
2) Open the Crystal Key Chest (Located in Taverly, In the house opposite that of the Witch's house)

On a side note, smithing cannonballs is a good way to make money and only requires 35 smithing. If you choose this method, each cannonball sells for about 170-200 gp each and you receive 4 balls per steel bar.

a moderate income i found was theiving master farmers, although they give less experience, they give seeds, some of the more valuable seeds e.g the herb seeds or strawberry and watermelon seeds can either be grown, then sold, sold as seeds, or the herbs could be grown, and either sold are herbs, or sold as potions

When I thieve Master Farmers, I barely ever get anything other than the basic allotment seeds tbh. Takes too much time to mass thieve herb / rarer seeds.

Yes I agree, we are not only looking for the more conventional methods, but the fastest methods as well.

Thanks for the input, the both of you.
